big love💚 🙏🏽from Chicago

This is an ambient cello piece based in the key of B minor with the theme of finding hope after loss. It is dedicated to my grandfather who just passed away. At the very end of the song it transposes to B major which is how I depicted 'hope', which is hard to imagine during the first stages of grieving. It was recorded at my studio in one take with the cello, Strymon effects pedals (BigSky and TimeLine) and SOMA Lab Cosmos loop machine which make the soundscapes blend nicely into one another. First I feed a few notes into the looper and then record more and more layers. Headphones recommended.

This single is part of a new series of singles I am releasing weekly on bandcamp. Each single includes the original track and an extended mix of approx. 1 hour for meditation, falling asleep or other uses.
